I can’t help but feel homesick, because deep in my heart Ann Arbor is like my second home and [ECIR] is all part of my family there)…My life will never be the same, really… But then of course, I feel so happy telling my stories to a lot of people (even my students). I told them about some of the things I learned during my time in the US and with ECIR, like: a) Being optimistic, b) Being appreciative of people, and more importantly, c) Being respectful of individual differences. I am truly grateful for this community.

ECIR is an absolutely FANTASTIC place to live! The staff at ECIR handled everything in an incredibly professional manner, and were accommodating to many of my needs and issues as they arose. And this place has a fantastic sense of community living — there are communal meals, excursions around Ann Arbor AND other places in Michigan all throughout the year, really awesome events where residents share stories and perform cool things…I couldn’t imagine a better place to live during my two years in Ann Arbor!

Perhaps it’s just my basic-vocabulary English, but I can’t even think of just one adjective to describe the amazing experience I had during my time living in ECIR. Being away from family and home is not an easy thing but places like ECIR makes the transition significantly smoother. From the very first day you start creating a community that builds as time goes by and you meet friends from different backgrounds, religions, customs…I would definitely recommend this residency to anyone.
